We know babies arrive already connected to other people. That’s what a range of sciences is now telling us. With neuroscience and research we know that babies have brains already tuned in to other people’s body rhythms, vocal tones and movements. It makes them much more communicative and sophisticated than we often realise. In fact, it turns out that their very brain pathways are shaped by the kinds of responses that they receive from other people.

This is ongoing. It shapes who we are, our values, beliefs and behaviour patterns. The nature v nurture debate continues but what neuroscience has revealed, in relation to the plasticity of the brain, is that new pathways can be created so we don’t need to stay stuck.

Neuro Linguistic Programming [NLP] is about enhancing and enriching communication and understanding the connections between physiology and psychology to enable change.

Neuro: is about the way our senses absorb information to the brain, linking between neurons to create pathways.
What we: see, hear, feel, taste, smell.

Linguistic: The use of language both verbal and non verbal. Learning how specific words and phrases mirror our mental worlds.
Generally our gestures, body language, beliefs, and values developing our traits and habits.

Programming: The way in which our brains develop. The creation of neuro-pathways linking neurons through experiences and environment.

Many children and families face challenges in life: coping with change whether related to moving house, school or change in family circumstances through divorce or death or the birth of a sibling. Peer issues, bullying or fears and anxieties about school or sleepovers. Life is busy and demanding.

Sometimes there is a change in behaviour, a withdrawal or anger and sometimes the person does not know consciously why they are worried, unhappy, frightened or cross. They just are! It can alter the dynamics in the family. Many families don’t have nearby family networks to support them or perhaps they get too much mixed advice from extended family members. Support is required to help to move things forwards when they have exhausted their strategies and probably feel exhausted.

No-one teaches you to help, support, nurture, handle, or manage your children through their learning experiences and emotional highs and lows. In truth no matter how enormous your feeling of love for them, sometimes that just isn’t enough on its own to help them develop and get through life.

Kids NLP Scotland helps facilitate change. The change is rapid, the techniques are easily learned by the child and most importantly they learn how to use their own brain to effect change.
